What we earn, what we see, what we can't do.

Most apps in this space never explain what they live on or what they know about you. Both are here, as concretely as we can put them — including the points where we get in our own way.

How we make money

From exactly one thing: a single in-app purchase of €39.99. No subscription, no advertising, no data sales, no affiliate links in the articles, no paid placements in our app comparisons. When we recommend someone else's app, we get nothing for it.

  • The app is fully usable without buying — the purchase opens the long-term analysis.
  • A subscription would mean we earn from your return. That's precisely what we don't want.
  • If you can't pay right now, you get a code. No proof, no justification.

What the app knows about you

Everything stays on your device. There are no servers that see your entries, no accounts and no sign-in. That isn't a policy, it's a technical property: the app's code contains no network calls except for the purchase.

  • No analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no ad tracker in the app.
  • Usage data comes only through Apple's Screen Time or Android's Digital Wellbeing — you control the grant in the operating system.
  • Export writes a file to you. Delete really deletes the database.

What this website collects

Here we're less strict than in the app, and that deserves saying. This site uses anonymous reach measurement, and — only with your explicit consent — a self-hosted session recording on servers in Germany.

  • Without consent no session recording runs. You can withdraw at any time.
  • Inputs and email addresses are automatically masked before storage.
  • Retained for 30 days, no third-country transfer.

What the code enforces

Promises hold badly when they only live in a document. Two automated checks run on every app build and fail it if anyone — including us — violates them.

  • A brand check blocks terms like streak, score, xp, badge, engagement, retention across the entire source.
  • A tone check blocks patronising words in user-facing text, such as “should”, “waste”, “productive”.
  • So “no streaks, no score” isn't an intention. It's a build rule.

What we can't do

For completeness, because others leave this out.

  • We can't measure anything your operating system doesn't grant — and no more than you allow.
  • We're not a medical device, not therapy, and not a diagnostic tool.
  • We have no efficacy study of our own app. What we have is evidence for the mechanisms behind it.
  • We're a small app with few users. If you're looking for review counts as proof of quality, you won't find them here.
